Luminescent and Photoluminescent Security Signs
LUMINANCE is a physical movement which has tehcapacity of absorbing energy Ander different forms and send it under electromagnetic radiation. It´s a cold light in which the emission of luminescent eadiation is caused in normal or low temperature conditions, unlike other lights that need high temperatures. Luminescent is only visible in the dark.
PHOTOLUMINANCE is the luminance in which the activating energy is of electromagnetic origin (ultraviolet rays, X-rays, cathodic rays). In the case of the photoluminescent minerals, light is absorbed during a determined period of tima and, when emiting light, luminescent, it is done with a lower wave than the incident. It is not as the optical phenomenon of diffraction or reflection.
FOSFORESCENT is the luminance or photoluminance that continues last hour over it even after having retired the energy source that influence over them.
